The Company:Our client, a prominent FMCG business in Central London, is seeking a Financial Accountant with a focus on internal controls and SOX compliance. This is an exciting opportunity for a practice-trained, qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA) to take on a challenging role in a thriving, fast-moving business environment.

The Role:As the Financial Accountant - Internal Controls & SOX Focus, you will strengthen the company's internal control framework and ensure compliance with SOX regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and monitor internal controls aligned with SOX requirements.
  • Conduct risk assessments and identify opportunities for process improvements.
  • Partner with teams across the business to document and embed effective controls.
  • Manage the annual SOX audit process, liaising with external auditors.
  • Ensure financial systems and processes comply with regulatory standards.
  • Provide training and guidance on internal controls to various departments.

About You:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA or ACCA) with a practice-trained background (Big 4 or Top 10 preferred).
  • Proven experience in internal controls, SOX compliance, or internal audit.
  • Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards (UK GAAP/IFRS).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders.
  • A proactive approach and a passion for improving processes and controls.
