Financial Accountant (Audit Specialist)

4 Month FTC - can be extended & the company is growing!

Up to £65k depending on experience Farringdon London | Hybrid - 3 days in around ME. 2 days a week normal weeks

Are you a qualified Financial Accountant, ideally with an Audit background looking to make an impact in a growing, dynamic business?

Our client, a successful retailer with over 30 stores across the UK and US (and plans to open 5 more soon), is preparing for itsfirst audit early next year. With exciting growth on the horizon, they need your expertise to ensure they're audit-ready and set for the next phase of their journey!

The Role

Joining a collaborative team of 4, you'll report directly to the Senior Finance Manager (SFM) and CFO, playing a critical role in ensuring the company's financial records are in top shape ready for Audit next year.

Your responsibilities will include:

Conducting bank reconciliations in their new accounting system (Xero) to ensure accuracy.
Tracking and digitising paper records while resolving any discrepancies.
Taking ownership of statutory accounts and collaborating with the SFM to prepare for the audit.
Partnering with the SFM and CFO on ad-hoc projects and driving solutions.
VAT Reports - ensuring calculated correctly
Support the SFM with system improvements
Analysing findings and supporting the wider finance team with follow-up actions.
Business partner with stakeholders and wider teams across the business

What We're Looking For

ACA/ACCA qualified, with training and experience in a Practice environment.
Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with audit standards.
A meticulous eye for detail and a natural ability to dig deep into data.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills - you thrive as part of a team.
A flexible, proactive mindset to tackle challenges and adapt to changing priorities.
