Financial Accountant, Part Time 3 days / week £53,000 pro rata.

Our Not for Profit client is at the forefront of intellectual property rights management, covering photocopying, scanning and digital reuse of articles and extracts from print and digital publications.

As a qualified financial accountant, you’ll have a sharp eye for detail, and the confidence to introduce new, and advance current processes. You will be a good team player, yet equally capable left to your own initiative.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will be a vital member of the team responsible for performing and maintaining all monthly and annual accounting processes and reporting, assisting with external audits and reporting to statutory and regulatory bodies whilst upholding our company values.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of financial information to key stakeholders.
  • Insightful interpretation of financial information, and KPIs to help drive and grow the business.
  • Assist in the budgeting and reforecasting for the business.
  • Business Partner for Departmental Heads.
  • Assist with external audit and year end process.
  • Complete month end activities and variance analysis for reviews to maintain the accuracy of transactions and compliance with the internal and external requirements.
  • Help complete monthly packs and monthly commentary.
  • Maintain Agency agreements and monthly reconciliations and invoicing.
  • Deputise for Finance Director/Head of Finance at Board Meetings as necessary.
  • Reporting for PLS (a member company that we provide an accounting service for), presenting at PLS Board Meetings and overseeing the PLS audit and year end process.
  • Assist with queries from Accounts Receivable team, Accounts Payable and Management Accountant.
  • VAT reporting.
  • Deputise for Commercial Finance Manager for payroll approvals and reconciliations.

Accounting policy:

  • Monitor and evaluate current and future changes in accounting requirements and manage work to implement necessary changes to policies.
  • Advise finance and the business on accounting implications of business change.

Ideally your work experience will demonstrate:

  • ACA/CIMA/ACCA qualified.
  • SAP Business One knowledge desirable.
  • Good understanding of financial accounting and reporting systems.
  • Strong IT skills (especially Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Excellent communication skills, and able to effectively work with both internal and external contacts.
  • Able to work independently with confidence.
  • Able to use own initiative to make improvements and streamline processes where necessary.
