I am currently working with a reputable legal firm based in Central London who are seeking a Financial Accountant to join their growing finance team. This is a newly created role due to growth and ongoing projects, responsibilities include:
- Preparation and maintaining financial statements
- Reconciliation of balance sheets and general ledger accounts.
- Preparing reporting and financial analysis to support business decision making.
- Assist with preparation of budget and forecasts, working with budget holders across different divisions.
- Prepare quarterly variance analysis.
- Reviewing financial documents and transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Work with External accountants in providing supporting documentation and manage the audit process.
- Assist in updating and developing accounting policies and procedures.
- Involved in new system implementation to Elite 3E - including maintenance and update of financial records.
- Assist with cash flow modelling and forecasting.
- Prepare and maintain monthly Partner payments and keep accurate record of Partner Accounts on quarterly cycle.
- Understand the Loans recorded in the ledger and maintain and reconcile monthly
- Additional ad-hoc projects and analysis to support the wider team and business.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified or finalist (ACA or ACCA preferred) and will have strong technical experience involving financial accounts preparation and reporting standards. Candidates must have a 'can do' attitude and hands on approach, with adaptability to work across a broad range of duties in finance. Working in a professional services or legal industry would be beneficial, and strong systems and Excel capability is a must.
