Your new companyA large Housing Association based near King's Cross station are seeking a Financial Accounting and Control Lead to join their team for a 9-month FTC.Your new role

  • Lead on group-wide balance sheet and control account reconciliations in line with published timetables.
  • Lead and collaborate with heads of service, finance business partners and non-finance stakeholders to coordinate and ensure the timely delivery of monthly control account reconciliations for all assigned entities.
  • Develop and provide monthly control accounts updates for the Finance Leadership Team
  • Support the review and updating of internal controls and processes
  • Conduct analytical review of designated group entities' financial statements to facilitate a smooth and timely audit delivery.
  • Lead and assist with a quarterly review of the Group entities' financial health, detailing changes to the risk profile of each.
  • In collaboration with the finance systems team, review and maintain accurate data and reports used for financial reporting.
  • Support the tracking, reporting and interpretation of financial accounting KPIs relating to regulatory returns and sector benchmarking activities.
  • Support the delivery of continuous performance improvements across the financial accounting and control function.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Hold or be working towards a CCAB recognised accounting qualification (CGMA, ACCA, ACA).
  • Experience of supporting interim and year-end audits, coordinating effectively with auditors.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinking ability, capable of analysing complex data to develop solutions and make data-driven decisions.
  • Advanced Excel essential, and knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics (D365) and Power BI preferred.
