Your new companyA large Housing Association based near King's Cross station are seeking a Financial Accounting and Control Manager to join their team on a permanent basis.Your new role

  • Preparing group entities' quarterly and annual statutory accounts with supporting schedules.
  • Conducting analytical review of the designated group entities' financial statements in order to facilitate a smooth and timely audit delivery.
  • Oversee and direct the delivery of the assigned group entities' interim and final audits.
  • Support the preparation and submission of all regulatory returns (FVA and Companies House returns).
  • Preparing the monthly group intercompany and payroll control accounts reconciliations.
  • Deliver continuous performance improvements across the financial accounting and control function.
  • Collaborate with finance business partners and heads of services to make sure that the monthly control account reconciliations for all assigned entities are delivered on time and accurately.
  • By tracking and reporting departmental performance in relation to predetermined KPIs to enable corrective actions where necessary.
  • Manage and develop a Financial Accountant.

What you'll need to succeed

  • You must be a chartered accountant, holding a full CCAB qualification or equivalent
  • Experience of leading and managing interim and year-end audits, liaising effectively with auditors
  • Ability to provide expert technical accounting advice to the business.
  • Knowledge of regulatory financial returns and filings, including FVA and Companies House, with a record of timely and accurate submissions
  • Capability for strategic thinking and ability to analyse complex data, review alternative solutions, and reach speedy, well-formed conclusions
  • Demonstrate effective and confident interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral) with the ability to engage with a range of audiences both internally and externally.
