Page Personnel is currently supporting a well-renowned financial services firm in their search for an experienced Financial Accountant to join their team on a temporary, three-month basis. Our client specialises in the banking sector and holds a prestigious reputation in today's market. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of accounting tasks, which are outlined in the duties section for your review.

Our client is looking for an ambitious and driven individual who is focused on their work and ideally has several years of experience within the financial services sector. As this is a fast-paced environment, the successful candidate will be expected to keep up with the demands of the role.

Description

As Financial Accountant, the following duties will be involved in your job role:

  • Provide timely management information and data analysis for business monitoring.
  • Prepare financial commentary and analysis for trends, variances, and Board Reports.
  • Execute finance activities under the Head of Finance's supervision, including:
  • Supplier engagement
  • Maintaining fixed assets and depreciation schedules
  • Reviewing bank reconciliations
  • Reconciling petty cash
  • Managing prepayments and accruals
  • Processing invoices and payment requests
  • Handling intercompany accounts
  • Maintain the General Ledger, Financial, and Management accounts, including backups, schedules, reconciliations, and journal postings for month/year-end.
  • Implement finance strategies and policies aligned with the overall group strategy.
  • Recommend and implement financial processes to ensure effective internal controls.
  • Update finance documentation, including the Finance Procedures Manual.
  • Provide support for auditor queries and prepare data for tax and VAT submissions.
  • Conduct financial analysis, calculate performance ratios, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Prepare Management and Statutory Accounts, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.

Profile

The successful Financial Accountant should have:

  • A Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Must be ACCA/CIMA or equivalent PQ/Finalist or close to being finished.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures.
  • Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail.
  • A strong capacity for teamwork and collaboration.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in analysing large volumes of data.
  • Must come from a Financial Services background (Banking sector is desirable)
