Join a leading professional services firm as a Financial Accountant. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced accountant to further their experience in a broad finance role, reporting directly to the Financial Controller.

Day-to-day of the role:

Reporting:

  • Prepare, analyse, and regularly update financial data to provide accurate reports to senior management, including:
    • Monthly Management Accounts and Departmental reviews.
    • P&L forecasts and regular updates.
    • Statutory financial statements and audit adjustments.
    • Annual Income and Costs budgets.
    • Cash forecasts.
    • Quarterly Financial Covenants tests to the bank.
    • Assistance with the SRA and Statutory LLP audits.

Accounting Tasks:

  • Calculate and process quarterly commission payments.
  • Prepare schedules for Equity and Fixed Share Partner drawings.
  • Review monthly Balance Sheet and bank reconciliations.
  • Update monthly Fee Earner and Support staff headcount listings.
  • Manage Partner’s Capital requirements; liaise with the bank for new or increased capital as required.
  • Valuate WIP & Debts.
  • Support the COFA role.

General Tasks:

  • Undertake ad hoc projects to improve processes and efficiencies within the accounting function.
  • Provide ad hoc reports and financial information as required.
  • Address queries from Partners and Associates.
  • Liaise generally with auditors and the bank.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Accounting qualification – ACCA, CIMA or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience as an accountant, preferably in a law firm or professional services firm.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Principles and Accounts Rules of the Solicitors Regulation Authority.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel. SQL knowledge is a distinct advantage.
  • Professional demeanour with outstanding leadership and communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels.
