Financial Accountant - German Speaking

Cedar has partnered with a leading global manufacturing company to recruit a German-speaking Financial Accountant. This hybrid role, based in the City of London, offers a mix of remote work and office days. As part of a dynamic finance team, you'll play a key role in financial reporting and analysis, ensuring compliance with both international and local accounting standards.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare financial accounts and oversee month-end closings in SAP (R/3 or S/4).
  • Collaborate with the local Managing Director and internal teams.
  • Handle postings for AP, AR, fixed assets, VAT, and Intrastat at both entity and group levels.
  • Reconcile payroll and manage intercompany transactions.
  • Compile group financial reporting packages using IDL and ensure adherence to the group accounting manual (IFRS-aligned).
  • Prepare local GAAP-compliant financial statements with supporting notes.
  • Act as a key contact for internal and external audits.
  • Conduct financial reviews and provide analysis for management decision-making.
  • Serve as the SAP FI key user, ensuring system accuracy and efficiency.

Person Specification

  • Fluency in German (spoken/written)
  • Proven expertise in financial accounting and reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP systems and financial software.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Familiarity with IFRS and local GAAP requirements.
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, and highly organized.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
