Handle are delighted to be working with an established Music company on south coast in their search for a financial controller, this is a unique and rare opportunity to work for an amazing company.

you will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial operations of our company, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic financial planning. This position requires a deep understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis, and the ability to work collaboratively with the different departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the company.

  • Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly budgets and forecasts.

  • Generate custom financial reports for management to support decision-making processes.

  • Track budget variances, investigate discrepancies, and provide recommendations for improvement.

  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial statements for clients. (700 + statements per month)

  • Oversee quarterly MCPS reporting and half yearly royalty accounting for in house labels.

  • Ensure compliance with local and international tax regulations.

  • Prepare year-end accounts to final draft (excluding tax calculations and companies house submissions)

  • Liaise with external accountant to finalise end of year accounts.

  • Manage cash flow.

  • Supervise and mentor the accounts team .

  • Foster a collaborative and results-driven team culture.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is desirable.

  • Rounded knowledge and experience with Sage accountancy software.

  • A minimum of 3 years proven experience as a Financial Controller in the music industry.

  • Complete understanding of how MCPS royalties function and associated reporting.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent IT skills including advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
