VisionFR is looking for a full-time Sole role Financial Controller to join a young and dynamic Interior Design Agency in SW London with exciting plans for the future. You will be responsible for two businesses.

This is a fab opportunity for the Financial Controller to shape and improve the financial processes.

Key Responsibilities of the Financial Controller

  • Analyse financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks, and propose actionable recommendations.

Ensure accurate financial reporting.

  • Reconcile monthly sales by revenue channel, including deferred income.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable functions.
  • Complete month-end close for both businesses, including accruals, prepayments, and month end journals, within strict deadlines.
  • Monitor and manage cash flow, providing regular updates and forecasts to the managing directors.
  • Prepare quarterly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Calculate and update monthly sales commissions, maintaining calculation templates for team members.
  • Process supplier payments and manage intercompany reconciliations.
  • Ensure invoices received from sub-contractors have the correct CIS applied and maintain a strong understanding of CIS requirements.
  • Maintain fixed asset schedules and review quarterly VAT returns.
  • Assist with group reporting and statutory accounts preparation.
  • Oversee Xero, including user access management, and address queries related to the system.
  • Implement and optimise financial software/programmes to enhance reporting speed and accuracy.
  • Provide financial insights and advice to support growth and decision-making.
  • Respond to ad hoc supplier and client queries.
  • Implement financial systems / software to improve process

Key Skills and Experience of the Financial Manager

  • 5+ years, in founder-led SMEs with sustained growth
  • Qualified, Finalist or QBE
  • Proven experience in implementing financial systems/software to improve processes.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Experience in transitioning or upgrading financial systems would be beneficial
  • Expert knowledge of Xero and proficiency with Excel/Google Sheets.
  • Experience in managing and forecasting cash flow to ensure financial stability.
  • Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English with excellent communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to process improvement.
  • Dynamic and forward-thinking
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to drive efficiency
  • Energy and enthusiasm to support the business in its next phase of growth
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • A proven track record in financial management.
  • You should be comfortable in a managerial role and have full responsibility for month-end management reporting.
  • The successful candidate will be a confident and experienced finance professional
