A renowned digital agency known for the pioneering work and innovative approach within a close-knit network are seeking a skilled and motivated Financial Controller to lead the finance team and help shape financial processes, reporting directly to a part-time CFO. The Agency is financially strong, delivering high-profile projects for a variety of top tier clients.

The Financial Controller will play a hands-on role in managing and enhancing financial systems, overseeing control accounts, and ensuring seamless month-end processes. You will be responsible for statutory accounting, budgeting and forecasting, and managing client projects from start to finish. This role is ideal for a driven finance professional with a background in marketing communications (Marcomms), especially with experience in Xero or Paprika and strong Excel proficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee month-end processes and ensure timely, accurate reporting.
  • Manage statutory accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow.
  • Monitor accounts receivable, debtors, and NWK.
  • Provide accurate Management Information (MI) to support strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate with external auditors and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
  • Lead the financial cycle of client projects, including revenue recognition and KPI tracking.
  • Support and influence internal stakeholders, working closely with the CFO and Board.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a financial controller role, ideally in a digital or Marcomms agency.
  • Proficiency in Xero, Paprika, or similar financial management tools.
  • Strong analytical skills and advanced Excel capabilities.
  • Ability to provide strategic insights and actionable financial information.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
