As first finance hire, you will play a pivotal role in setting up and managing the finance function, contributing to their success and growth trajectory.
They are seeking a talented Financial Controller to join the team and take ownership of establishing and leading the finance function. This is a remote position, offering an exciting opportunity to work with a passionate and driven team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The Financial Controller will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the business, with a focus on international accounting standards and exposure to US and Middle East markets, in a rapidly growing Seed stage business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and manage the finance function, including financial planning, reporting, and analysis.
- Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and systems to ensure compliance and efficiency.
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with international accounting standards.
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making and business growth.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Marketing, and Operations, to optimise financial performance and drive profitability.
- Stay updated on emerging trends and best practices in finance and technology to inform strategic initiatives.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with relevant post-qualification experience.
- Proven experience in a finance leadership role within a tech startup or high-growth company.
- Strong understanding of international accounting standards, with exposure to US and Middle East markets preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with remote teams.
- Self-motivated and proactive with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
- Proficiency in accounting software and financial management tools.
