Cedar is working exclusively with a market-leading global Real Estate business looking to hire a Financial Controller. The position will support the Finance Director and Executive Team, overseeing corporate accounting and leading a talented finance team across the EMEA region. As the FC, you will take ownership of financial control, reporting, and compliance across the European business, ensuring alignment with both UK and US and external statutory requirements.

Role responsibilities will include.

  • Managing monthly reporting and delivering financial results in line with group deadlines.
  • Leading the EMEA Finance team, fostering development and performance.
  • Overseeing balance sheet management, reconciliations, and statutory reporting under IFRS.
  • Driving process improvements and ensuring compliance with financial controls.
  • Leading the annual audit process and managing external auditor relationships.
  • Supporting tax filings, working capital management, and financial system integrations.
  • Providing technical accounting guidance for corporate transactions and new reporting standards.
  • Collaborating with FP&A to support business planning and forecasting.

Candidate profile.

  • ACA qualified, ideally with an audit background (Top 10 preferred).
  • Strong technical accounting expertise, with experience in financial control.
  • Proven team leadership skills and capable of managing ambitious and high-performing professionals.
  • Ability to navigate complex stakeholder relationships and work across multiple European jurisdictions.
  • Real estate industry experience is beneficial but not essential.
