Our client is currently seeking a dedicated Financial Controller to join their team in London on a permanent basis. Reporting directly to the CFO. The Financial Controller is responsible for all forms of reporting including management, statutory, fiscal and to shareholders. Accurate and timely information is essential to maintain proper financial control of the business.

Responsible for

  • Manage all aspects of month end reporting, preparation of monthly consolidated management accounts for individual entities and the group, including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow, variance analysis and comments. Monthly reporting to the leadership team.
  • Preparation and submission of quarterly shareholder reporting.
  • Annual statutory accounts preparation (IFRS), in particular IFRS16, for the group and individual entities (FRS101).
  • Responsibility for the financial management.
  • Review quarterly VAT submissions.
  • Write technical accounting papers, liaising with group auditors and advisors, present findings to the leadership team and the shareholders.
  • Manage company-wide multi-year plan process, annual budget, quarterly forecasts.
  • Responsible for shareholder reporting and communication.
  • Maintaining the integrity of financial ledgers, process improvements, policies and procedures.
  • Manage internal and external audit.
  • Coordinate the preparation of corporation tax computations and review of tax returns by tax consultants.
  • Review of transfer pricing arrangements and documentation.
  • Manage, train and develop the Assistant Accountant.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Relevant accounting qualification such as ACA (preferred), ACCA or CIMA
  • Practical and proven experience working within this role or similar roles.
  • Ideally practice qualified accountant with post qualified experience within industry.
  • Able to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders including employees, managers, Management team, shareholder reps as appropriate, external contacts, suppliers, auditors etc people at all levels of an organisation.
  • Strong technical accounting skills and knowledge of IFRS.
  • Previous experience to include consolidation, multi-currency, dealing with internal and external auditors, advanced excel skills.
