Interim Financial Controller

My client is seeking a Financial Controller to support their financial reporting team with year-end accounts, external audits, and monthly management reporting to the Board and Executive Committee.
- External Audit Coordination: Oversee and manage the external audit process, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of all required information.
- Year-End Accounts: Prepare and review year-end financial statements in compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Lead Schedules Preparation: Develop and maintain detailed schedules and supporting documentation for year-end accounts.
- Team Leadership and Management: Supervise and mentor the finance team, ensuring efficient workflows and professional development.
- Monthly Management Reporting: Lead the month-end close process, reviewing balance sheet and P&L along with preparation and presentation of detailed financial reports, including analysis and insights, to the board and executive committee.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to financial regulations, policies, and internal controls specific to the banking sector.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement improvements in financial schedules and processes to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Stakeholder Relationships: Maintain effective relationships and deliver positive leadership impact with direct reports and colleagues.
- Collaboration: Proactively collaborate with team members, particularly with the management insights accountant to improve the analysis and quality of management accounts.
- Support to CFO and Finance Team: Assist the CFO and finance team as necessary.
- Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience.
- Experience in managing external audits and year-end account preparation.
- Regulated banking/financial services experience (PRA/FCA).
- Qualifications:
- Qualified ACA/CIMA (or qualified by experience).
- Skills:
- Advanced expertise in Excel.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
