The main focus of the Financial Controller is to oversee the financial control activities, including the review and analysis of monthly/quarterly and annual numbers.
Collaborating with the executive management team in establishing more effective processes and controls to ensure the integrity of a company financials.
Providing executive management with accurate and comprehensive financial information to guide effective policy making and financial strategies.
Summarising budget trends, analysing deficiencies and reporting variances to executive management team. Providing external auditors with the necessary documentation and support.
Oversee the HR function, organising people, information and other resources.
To be successful in this role, recent experience of working with NetSuite is a must.
Pay: £65,000 - £70,000 per annum (depending on experience) + benefitsLocation: Central London. (4 days in the office)Working hours: 9:00am - 5.00pm
Responsibilities:
Finance:
- Analytical review and analysis of financial data and generate monthly trend reports and balance sheet reconciliations ensuring financial statement accuracy and investigating variances.
- Assisting with annual reviews/audit preparation.
- Supporting the sales team with customer tender completions
- Implementing/strengthening processes and controls to improve reporting and accounting accuracy.
- Developing/mentoring and oversight of the finance team, inc. hands on support
- Acting as a key business partner to the MD and other Heads of Departments in all strategic and operational areas of the business.
- Monitoring and assessing operational and other business workflows of the organisation from financial perspective for better KPIs and efficiency.
- Preparation of monthly and year to date performance reports to the Board and shareholders, including commentary and analysis in the Board pack and resolution of any follow up queries.
- Responsible for ensuring accuracy and consistency of the accounting systems and records across the business, together with the timely production of reports including weekly operational reports and formal monthly consolidated financial accounts and commentary. This will include the monitoring of overheads and expenditure.
- Preparation of key schedules for the budgeting process for the sales, marketing, production and operations functions.
- Oversight of bank reconciliations and maintenance of cash flow forecasts to ensure funds are available to meet obligations.
- Liaise with customers and suppliers as necessary.
- Ad hoc tasks.
HR:
- Performing HR duties such as recruiting and selecting employees.
- Onboarding & induction plans for all new team members.
- Helping the company to promote high morale and communicate the companies operating policies.
- Co-managing holiday and absence calendars for teams to ensure efficient working pattern.
- Updating Atlas with any new starters/documents/absences & training.
- Listening to and finding resolutions for employee conflicts.
- Managing a company’s PDP/appraisal.
- Ensuring that a company’s procedures comply with employment regulations.
- Monitoring various aspects of an employee’s performance, such as attendance and sick leave.
- Accessing the need for training and then designing and implementing training programs, accordingly, including but not limited to First Aid/Fire Training/Pest Control/PAT testing etc.
- Taking a lead whilst advising and supporting managers on all employee relations issues, including performance management; sickness & absence; disciplinary & grievance procedures.
- Monitor staff turnover.
- Preparing & reviewing Standard Operation Procedures for daily operations in all teams.
Requirements:
- Clear understanding of NetSuite and the Atlas HR portal.
