A dynamic and growing consultancy are making the exciting move to bring their finance function in-house. As the Financial Controller and first finance hire, you will play a pivotal role in shaping their financial operations, driving strategic decision-making, as well as developing and leading a high-performing team.
Based in the heart of London on a hybrid basis, the business is looking for a proactive self-starter, who can role up their sleeves and work closely with senior management to ultimately provide financial insights and guidance.
Your Role & Responsibilities:
- Build and mentor an in-house finance team, fostering a culture of excellence.
- Manage day-to-day finance operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Oversee financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting, ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Ensure accurate bookkeeping, including maintaining the general ledger, reconciling accounts and managing journal entries and accruals
- Liaise with external auditors and be on hand to assist with queries
- Provide financial analysis to support business growth and decision-making.
- Implement robust financial controls and streamline financial processes.
- Business partner with senior management to assist with decision making
What We’re Looking For:
- A qualified finance professional (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Experience in leading a finance function, ideally in a scaling business.
- Strong leadership skills with a passion for developing and mentoring teams.
- A commercial mindset with the ability to provide strategic financial insights.
- Hands-on experience with financial systems, reporting, and process improvements.
