Based near Wembley, North West London, MRK Associates is currently working exclusively with an exciting, rapidly growing and multi-disciplined international business for the appointment of a Financial Controller on a permanent basis working 4-5 days in the office.

This job will suit an experienced Financial Controller, with experience of running a finance team, to be responsible for the company's financial management including financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.

The business is readying itself for a period of strong growth which is driving this recruitment. Current turnover is c.£20M across numerous businesses in the Group with immediate plans and new business wins looking to push this to £35M. The Finance Director and senior team have been restructuring to ensure the business is in the current corporate shape for this growth and they're now looking to add experienced heads to bolster the team.

This job will oversee a team of 3 and will report to the Finance Director, taking ownership of the communication across the business for general accounting issues to free the FD up to look at more Group issues, e.g. Cash Flow and Asset Finance etc.

The successful individual will have a strong record as a Financial Controller/ Finance Manager able to prove strong team management/ building skills and good month end delivery. Strong communication skills to work with non-finance management across the business is essential and a 'thick-skin' to work in such an ever-changing and fast paced environment will be important.

Duties will include:

  • Review financial controls, processes and systems continually, offering solutions and improvements and implementing these changes accordingly
  • Financial Analysis of specific business actions and reporting on ad-hoc projects
  • Responsibility for the analysis of ongoing business costs, providing detailed analysis and commentary where there are significant deviations from budget
  • Review the monthly management accounts providing detailed commentary and analysis
  • Preparation of the financial report for board meetings as well as other reports, analysis and commentary
  • Production of the monthly sales report
  • Ownership of company budget and forecasts
  • Review Year End Accounts in preparation for year-end audit
  • Cash flow management and forecasting
  • Manage and develop a small finance team
