Financial Controller

  • Job Type: Part-time (3-4 days per week)

Our client, a well-established facilities management business, are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to oversee all aspects of financial management across their UK and Ireland operations. This role involves corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, and the development of internal control policies and procedures. This Financial Controller will also manage financial risk.

This will be a part-time role either 3-4 days per week with remote/hybrid working options and there will be travel required once per month to the overseas Head of Office.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL and Counsel, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, and report variances.
  • Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
  • Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
  • Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
  • Support month-end and year-end close process.
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
  • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Fully qualified Accountant either ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent
  • Proven working experience as a Financial Controller.
  • At least 5 years of combined accounting and finance experience.
  • Must have experience working within the facilities management industry.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
  • Experience with creating financial statements.
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
  • Excellent accounting software user and administration skills (NetSuite - Oracle knowledge a plus).
  • Knowledge of Spanish/French is an advantage.
