We are currently looking for a 12-month maternity cover Financial Controller to oversee the US and UK accounts for a Global Financial Controller. This is an exciting role reporting into the Global Finance Director. There will be line management responsibility of 4 direct reports and a team of 7 in total. The role sits with the Finance team based in our London office and is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment with experience in professional services.

Responsibilities:

  • Ownership and management of the day-to-day operations of the finance team, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, tax compliance, the month-end process, and management accounting.
  • Accountable for the accounts at month-end to ensure correct financial policies have been undertaken under IFRS, including taking accruals and prepayments as applicable.
  • Reviewing the monthly accounts with the FD and FP&A manager and supporting the production of the management accounts and monthly commentary provided to the management team.
  • Leading the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors.
  • Preparing accurate cash flow forecasts.
  • Developing and maintaining robust financial systems and processes, ensuring scalability and efficiency.
  • Handling financial administration and required reports, both internally and to external agencies as required.
  • Constant process review and improvement.
  • Overseeing:
    • Billing and revenue recognition processes.
    • The US Amex cards (40+) and ensuring they are completed on a timely and accurate basis.
    • Supporting the processing of supplier invoices where needed and managing the process to ensure accurate and timely input.
    • Reviewing and allocating project expenses to client accounts.
    • Reviewing payable reports and raising payments.
    • Ensuring compliance with company payment terms policy.
    • Daily bank reconciliation and cash flow reports are routinely updated.
    • Complete understanding of the full accounts receivable process and ability to support/cover the US billing manager where needed.
    • Complete understanding of supplier Statement of Account reconciliations

Qualifications & Experience

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
  • Experience within an agency 
  • Experience of working across the finance Function. Ideally small/mid size company experience
  • Attention to detail
  • Able to work in a fast past environment
  • Excellent team working ability (working closely with the finance team and business)
