Kenny Recruit are looking for a qualified Financial Controller to join one of their favourite clients! You will be responsible for running the day-to-day finance function, you will report into the Finance Director and have a team reporting into you. As the Financial Controller, you will run the month closing cycle and be challenged to do this within 3-5 days. You will be responsible for the audit, you will business partner with Heads of Departments and have a commercial edge that will help as you will be working with stock.

Our client are an e-commerce retail business who have seen significant growth over the last 10 years. This is an opportunity to shine in a pivotal role, building strong relationships, penetrating new markets, and shaping the future of a thriving division.

Pay: £75,000 - £85,000 per annum dependent on experience) + benefits

Location: Central London (4 days in the office to begin with, moving to 3 after probation)

Working hours: 9:00am - 6.00pm

Key Responsibilities:

Month End

  • Consolidated month end reporting in time, with accurate numbers and full balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Leading the fast close process including preceding and post-mortem meetings to identify and action improvements for subsequent closes.
  • Produce department reports P&L and spend reports monthly.
  • Monthly review of any judgements / adjustments to be made.
  • Present month end financials to Senior-Leadership team and own the actions log
  • Invoicing, paying down and reconciling intercompany positions monthly.
  • Leading month end close process and gathering close information from all business teams to enable fast close process.

Controls

  • Responsible for financial control, internal and external reporting
  • Responsible for ERP bedding in and improvements to become fast, reliable and efficient including access control, process design and reporting templates.
  • Design and oversee strong control environment including workflow approvals and challenging where inefficiencies may lie to improve close or turn-around speed
  • Leading department business partnering with all key teams by holding monthly meetings, taking actions, prioritising and leaning into requirements
  • Prioritise and create roadmap for department developments and focus over following quarter.

ERP

  • Administrator and architect of controls over ERP enforcing rigorous control over inputs and outputs to ensure quality data is used by the group.
  • Owning reconciliation processes with all sales channels and engaging with internal and external teams to make developments.

Requirements:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
  • Exceptional system skills.
  • Advanced MS Office skills, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to meet demanding deadlines, often with competing priorities, and adapts to business needs.
  • Ability to absorb complex operational information and produce accurate, intelligent analysis.
