Our client are a luxury hospitality and catering brand with 4 global locations, and are looking for a Financial Controller to manage the day-to-day operations of the finance team. The role will involve managing a team of 5 people and they have a hybrid working policy (2-3 days per week in the West End office - Mayfair).

Client Details

The client is a well-established restaurant brand that have 4 global locations. The original site is based here in Central London, and they are looking for a Financial Controller to manage a team of 5. The team is made up of a Management Accountant, a Finance Analyst and 3 Finance Assistants. The team are great and the role will report directly into the CFO. They are keen on making sure that the successful candidate has prior experience working as the Financial Controller for a luxury restaurant business, and has prior line management experience.

Description

The successful Financial Controller will:

  • Managing all global finance and accounting operations - across 4 global locations
  • Preparing and publishing timely monthly financial statements, and presenting management accounts/reports to the senior leadership team
  • Managing the month-end and year-end close process
  • Managing a team of up to 5 people
  • Liaising with the auditors and managing the audit process
  • Ability to investigate and review previous years financials and cashflows to understand reported figures
  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts.
  • Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
  • Monitor cash flow.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Preparation and review all monthly reconciliations, including the reconciliation of Group intercompany balances.
  • Preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns.
  • Additional controller duties as necessary.

Profile

The successful Financial Controller will:

  • Fully qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA or ACA)
  • MUST have prior experience working as an FC within a restaurant company
  • Previous experience of managing a team (flexible on size)
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
  • Sage 200 experience is ideal, but not essential.
  • Great analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
