Financial Controller
Location:North West London
Type:Full-time, Permanent
Hours:Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:30pm
Salary:Approx. 45,000 per annum
Holiday:4 weeks annual leave + statutory bank holidays (28 days total per year)
Our well-established and successful client is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Financial Controller to join their team based in North West London. The ideal candidate will be part or fully qualified in Cost and Management Accounting with extensive experience in the role, including working with imports. The Financial Controller will be responsible for managing the company's financial operations and ensuring accurate financial records are maintained.
Key Responsibilities:
- Bookkeeping & Accounts: Oversee the day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting up to the Trial Balance stage
- VAT & Payroll: Manage VAT returns and payroll processing, ensuring compliance with regulations
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets and profit & loss reports
- Imports: Handling financial transactions related to imports, ensuring correct documentation and accounting practices are followed
- Sage Accounting Software: Utilize Sage to perform day-to-day accounting tasks and financial record-keeping
- Budgets & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, ensuring accuracy and financial planning alignment
- Compliance & Controls: Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and assist with audits as needed
Requirements:
- Qualifications: Part/fully qualified Certified Accountant, Cost Accountant, or Management Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent)
- Experience: Proven experience in a similar Financial Controller or accounting role, including experience with imports and working up to the Trial Balance stage
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Sage accounting software for bookkeeping, VAT, and payroll management
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial reporting and reconciliations
- Organisational Skills: Excellent time management and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Communication: Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders
