IN2 Consult is partnering with a key client on the recruitment of a dynamic Financial Controller to lead our finance team. This role is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing month-end management accounting, statutory reporting, and driving process improvements. The successful candidate will act as a strategic business partner, providing financial insight to support key stakeholders in decision-making. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance leader with a background in hedge funds, energy trading, Commodities or the energy industry.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate management accounts and financial reporting in compliance with IFRS 9.

Oversee statutory reporting, liaising with external auditors and regulators as required.

Provide effective leadership and mentorship to a direct team of 4 finance professionals, with overall responsibility for a wider team of 15.

Partner closely with senior stakeholders, providing financial analysis and strategic insights to drive business decisions.

Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of financial reporting.

Ensure compliance with financial regulations, policies, and controls.

Lead and support key finance projects, including systems and process enhancement initiatives.

Collaborate cross-functionally to support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Qualifications and Experience:

Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA).

Proven experience in a Financial Controller or similar leadership role within a hedge fund, energy trading, commodities or energy industry.

Strong understanding of IFRS 9 and other relevant accounting standards.

Demonstrated experience in leading and developing finance teams.

Track record of driving process improvements and delivering operational excellence.
