IN2 Consult is partnering with a key client on the recruitment of a  dynamic Financial Controller to lead our finance team. This role is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing month-end management accounting, statutory reporting, and driving process improvements. The successful candidate will act as a strategic business partner, providing financial insight to support key stakeholders in decision-making. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance leader with a background in hedge funds, energy trading, Commodities or the energy industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate management accounts and financial reporting in compliance with IFRS 9.

  • Oversee statutory reporting, liaising with external auditors and regulators as required.

  • Provide effective leadership and mentorship to a direct team of 4 finance professionals, with overall responsibility for a wider team of 15.

  • Partner closely with senior stakeholders, providing financial analysis and strategic insights to drive business decisions.

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of financial reporting.

  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, policies, and controls.

  • Lead and support key finance projects, including systems and process enhancement initiatives.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA).

  • Proven experience in a Financial Controller or similar leadership role within a hedge fund, energy trading, commodities or energy industry.

  • Strong understanding of IFRS 9 and other relevant accounting standards.

  • Demonstrated experience in leading and developing finance teams.

  • Track record of driving process improvements and delivering operational excellence.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex financial data.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with financial systems and reporting tools.

  • Strong project management skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
