Financial Internal Auditor

Hybrid remote, between home and offices in Lewisham & Bromley

Permanent, part-time, 16 hours per week, flexibility around how the hours are distributed

Flexibility required to occasionally attend board and committee meetings, sometimes in mornings and evenings

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and driven Financial Internal Auditor to join a well-established organisation.

Our client is a not-for-profit financial institution, whose goal is to give back to the local community by providing ethical finance to those in need. Established for over 30 years, they serve people who live in Lewisham, Bromley, and surrounding areas.

Theyre looking for someone with experience in financial services or accounting to act as an auditor to the organisation. This role will involve auditing and reporting on various departments, including loans, accounting, bad debt, bank reconciliations, financial controls and reporting, delinquency, and member services/transactions. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to progress (if desired) whilst independently making an impact on an ethical nonprofit.

The role

Day-to-day responsibilities

Visiting branches and departments to audit processes, procedures, and working practices

Preparing and presenting reports to the CEO and board

Auditing the following departments/functions:

-Loans

-Accounting

-Bad debt

-Bank reconciliations

-Financial controls and reporting

-Delinquency

-Member services & transactions

The Person

Essential

Experience in at least one of the following areas:

Charity/nonprofit

Accounting

Operations (within finance sector)

Lending and/or personal finance

With the following skills:

Self-starter with the ability to work independently

Confident with great verbal communication skills as will be talking to the supervisory committee which includes people high up in the finance sector

Excellent written communication skills

Friendly, personable, and able to get on with others

High levels of integrity

Understands finances, lending, and/or accounting
