Equifind are delighted to be partnering with a boutique Investment Bank based in the City of London to join their finance team as an FP&A accountant.

As an FP&A accountant, you will be working closely with the Senior Financial Controller and the wider Finance team (including colleagues in America) and you will be responsible for assisting with business partnering, compensation planning and performance reporting for the UK Managed Group.

About the role

  • Analysing the European Investment Banking business, producing insightful management / board information and disclosure presentations, from underlying data analysis to polished presentations for regional and global senior management
  • Producing the underlying data for the planning of compensation and providing scenario analysis
  • Preparing analysis to assist with the building and updating of the UK Advisory budget and forecast
  • Ownership of the non-compensation budgeting, forecasting and periodic reporting for the UK Advisory and UK Corporate groups
  • Collaborate with the Legal Entity team to maximise efficiencies and standardise forecasting / reporting and collaborating with the wider finance teams to provide accurate data for management reporting
  • Solving finance challenges and implementing ongoing process improvements to meet stakeholder requirements
  • Streamlining business processes to increase reporting accuracy and timeliness
  • Building and strengthening relationships with stakeholders
  • Supporting the implementation and development of the Finance systems, such as Anaplan and Power BI
  • Providing ad-hoc analysis to assist with the effective collaboration with corporate and banking team heads to forecast business performance and flex for business and environment change

About you

  • Recognised professional accounting qualification within a fast paced, complex and multi-currency environment
  • Superior analytical skills and a keen eye for detail balanced with the ability to meet deadlines in a high pressure environment
  • Strong commercial acumen with a can do mentality and the ability to effectively apply numbers to the business context
  • Hands on ability to understand the business and its key cost drivers
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, influencing and presentation skills
  • Strong understanding of finance systems (preferably Workday/Adaptive Insights)
  • Advanced MS Excel, financial modelling, and PowerPoint skills
