The role requires a qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CAANZ/CA with industry experience in start-ups, SMEs, or sectors like Retail, FMCG, or E-Commerce.
Key responsibilities include overseeing financial reporting, cash flow management, budgeting, compliance, and process improvement.
Candidates should have strong knowledge of UK GAAP, experience in stock management, proficiency in Xero, and ideally be immediately available or have a one-week notice period.

I have been briefed by an exciting PE backed, B-Corp start-up who have experienced exceptional growth, proving to be highly popular with their incredible range of products for consumers and delivering goods across their International expansion. My client is looking for a Fractional Financial Controller to support the business in day-to-day financial operations and be the go to key point of contact for the senior leadership team supporting the business 3-4 days a week. Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting & Controls - oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for multiple subsidiaries including group consolidations. Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including AP/AR, payroll, expenses and GL. Lead the month end process and improve delivery days for further efficiency
Cash Flow Management - oversight of end to end cash management, from control of AP/AR and managing rolling cash forecasting whilst optimising working capital and implementing strategies to improve cash flow efficiency
Budgeting & forecasting - monitor financial performance against budgets/forecasts providing insights to senior leadership team and business partner with business units to support on financial guidance and budget control
Compliance & Tax - ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements, including VAT, corporation tax and payroll taxes
Process Improvement & Scalability - implement financial systems, processes and tools to support companies growth

About you:

Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CAANZ/CA
Industry experience in a start-up/SME and/or Retail/FMCG/E-Commerce sector experience
Strong knowledge of UK GAAP
Experience in stock/inventory management and revenue recognition
Proficiency in Xero accounting software is highly desirable
Fantastic excel skills
Self starter and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Immediately available or 1 week notice period
