Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role will have responsibility for reconciling and processing monthly fees and journals to ensure the team can value the property portfolio and support the fund to obtain the monthly share price at the agreed month end deadline.

Description

Reporting to the Finance Director, your responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

  • Fund accounting and trial balance maintenance in accounting system,
  • Processing the monthly sales & lease extension journals and accounting cost of sales accordingly,
  • Reconciling sales & lease extension income from our bank and property database monthly,
  • Completing monthly balance sheet and bank reconciliations,
  • Analysing and reconciling the income, and preparing cashbook journals for daily banking summaries for the client,
  • Prepare and process weekly payment runs on behalf of the client for all approved payments,
  • Calculate and process monthly ground rent & other income invoices to our client,
  • Complete all month end journals for the fund by 10th day of each

Profile

The ideal candidate must be able to work collaboratively within a small team internally, with the wider operations team, directors of two entities and with the finance team of our external partners.

Part Qualified / Newly Qualified / Qualified by expereince

Fund Accounting or Property Accounting experience ideal

Demonstrating experience of working with external partners is essential for this role.

  • Able to work to monthly reporting deadlines and reporting standards for two distinct entities.
  • Have a good level of credibility and influencing skills at all levels and with non finance stakeholders.
  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA finalist/part qualified accountant with experience in industry, (strong qualified by experience applications will be considered).
  • Ideally experience of working in a SME environment, ideally from a property services or fund management background, but not essential.
  • Proven work experience as a Fund Accountant or similar
  • Knowledge of SAGE accounting software
  • Knowledge of working with QUBE or another property
  • Time-management abilities, working to strict month end deadlines is essential for this
  • A friendly personality, flexible "can do attitude" and a team player is also essential for this
