As the Group Accountant, you will oversee group accounting, reporting, and financial controls to support the financial health and growth of the business.

Reporting directly into the Deputy CFO, this is a fully remote role that will manage 2x outsourced Accountants.

Exposure to group financial reporting in a listed business (AIM/FTSE 250) is required.

Group Accountant Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements for a multinational group, ensuring IFRS compliance and meeting listed company standards.
  • Team Leadership: Manage two management accountants and outsourced accountants/service providers for subsidiaries.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the group-wide budgeting and long-term forecasting processes, collaborating with subsidiaries to align on financial goals.
  • Treasury & Cash Management: Oversee cash flow, treasury operations, and banking across subsidiaries and currencies. Manage monthly payment runs, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Operational Finance: Execute monthly payment runs, optimize liquidity, and collaborate with subsidiaries to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Compliance & Tax: Manage UK and US tax compliance, ensuring timely filings for corporation tax, VAT, and statutory accounts in coordination with external accountants.
  • Audit Management: Coordinate external audits with Mazars to deliver timely and accurate financial results.
  • Systems & Process Improvement: Enhance financial controls and processes, optimizing the use of systems such as NetSuite for efficiency and scalability.
  • Financial System Management: Own and improve the ERP system (NetSuite) and integrations with accounts payable and payroll systems to meet evolving business needs.

Ideal Group Accountant Profile:

  • Experience: Proven expertise in a listed, multinational environment managing group finance or as an audit client. Direct involvement in preparing annual reports and maintaining IFRS compliance.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in NetSuite or similar ERP systems.
  • Qualifications: ACA/ACCA-qualified accountant, ideally Top 10 audit trained, with strong multi-currency consolidation experience.
