The client are a global financial services company (asset management and property company) that are looking for a Group Financial Accountant to join the team on a permanent basis. There is a wealth of exposure and progression in the role, and they are looking for a candidate with strong multi-entity and business partnering experience. The head office is based in South West London (Victoria) and they have hybrid working.
Client Details
The successful candidate will report directly into the Group Financial Controller, and the role will have a wealth of exposure to the group entities. The direct team is made up of 5 people, however the wider finance team is very large, giving any candidates a wealth of opportunity to grow in through the company. The role will be heavily month-end and business partnering focused and the client are eager to get a progressive candidate that is studying towards their accounting qualification.
Description
The successful Group Financial Accountant will:
- Be knowledgeable and responsive to the business needs and wants, driving improvements in the efficiency of the monthly financial close process.
- Support the business with the acquisition and integration of new assets.
- Work with the Group Finance team to refine the consolidation process, reduce reliance on manual and inefficient processes and comply with the agreed internal key controls necessary to move to a controls-based audit.
- Work cross-functionally with other teams to provide clear and concise accounting advice on significant and unusual transactions
- Assist in documenting the formal accounting treatment of significant contracts or transactions and obtain a timely sign-off from the auditors.
- Performance of, and compliance with internal controls with respect to the Group's external reporting and continuous improvement of controls.
- Preparation and submission of additional ad-hoc management reports and analyses.
- Provide key inputs in the preparation and presentation of the consolidated financial statements in accordance with IFRS and the Group's accounting policies
- Provide key inputs in the preparation and presentation of monthly and quarterly consolidated P&L and Balance Sheet reporting for internal management reporting purposes, including undertaking consolidated balance sheet and P&L analytical reviews.
- Support with the administration of the financial consolidation system (OneStream) and monthly close activities
- Calculating and posting consolidation journals in the consolidation system
- Liaise with auditors to ensure smooth and efficient running of year end audits
Profile
The successful Group Financial Accountant will:
- Have 4-5 years of experience in accounting
- Be actively studying towards their ACCA, CIMA or ACA qualification
- MUST have prior experience doing the month-end accounting for a global multi-national business with several international entities
- Have strong Excel skills
- Happy to work in the office 3 days per week
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- High attention to detail
