A great opportunity for a part-time Group Financial Accountant to join a fantastic law firm in their Group Reporting team!! This role is pivotal in supporting the Senior Group Financial Accountant with statutory and fiscal reporting, managing the group's cashflow, and interoffice accounting.

The successful candidate will also play a key role in integrating changes in reporting processes and tools, including the use of Power BI and the replacement of the main accounting system during 2025.

Key Responsibilities as the Group Financial Accountant:

Statutory/Fiscal Reporting:

  • Prepare year-end reporting packages for all offices to complete and submit to head office.
  • Prepare audit requests, ensuring timely delivery, required quality, and providing necessary explanations.
  • Assist in the preparation of the firm's consolidated accounts.
  • Prepare the firm's subsidiary LLP and company accounts.
  • Prepare year-end entries and post these into ledgers.

Cashflow and Treasury Reporting:

  • Prepare fund transfer forms in accordance with the approvals process and ensure transactions are correctly accounted for.
  • Assist in preparing the firm's cash flow position by consolidating monthly cash flows from all offices.
  • Monitor consolidated cash flows to assess the firm's short, medium, and long-term cash requirements, identifying potential surpluses or shortfalls.

Knowledge and Technical Skills needed for this Group Financial Accountant role:

  • Strong technical financial accounting skills and knowledge (in particular stat accounts).
  • Part qualified/fully qualified/qualfied by experience.
  • Experience of working in a law firm or other area of professional services.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Experience in working with and providing information and explanations to audit standards.
  • Advanced Excel skills, particularly proficiency with complex Excel formulae.
