We are seeking a talented Group Financial Controller to oversee our financial operations and contribute to our strategic growth.Job Summary: The Group Financial Controller will be responsible for leading the financial planning, reporting, and analysis functions of the organisation. This role involves working closely with senior management to drive financial performance, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing strategic insights to support decision-making.Key Responsibilities:
  1. Financial Reporting:
    • Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with UK GAAP and IFRS.
    • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial results to the board and stakeholders.
  2. Financial Planning & Analysis:
    • Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
    • Conduct variance analysis and prepare detailed reports to identify trends and recommend corrective actions.
  3. Cash Flow Management:
    • Monitor cash flow and working capital to ensure the business operates efficiently and sustainably.
    • Develop and implement cash flow forecasting models.
  4. Team Leadership:
    • Manage and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
    • Set clear performance objectives and conduct regular performance reviews.
  5. Internal Controls & Compliance:
    • Establish and maintain robust internal controls to mitigate financial risks.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and oversee audit processes.
  6. Strategic Support:
    • Partner with senior leadership to provide financial insights and recommendations for strategic initiatives.
    • Assist in evaluating investment opportunities and potential acquisitions.
  7. Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors, banks, and financial institutions.
    • Communicate financial performance and strategy to non-financial stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
Qualifications:
  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with a strong academic background.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in financial management, preferably in the retail sector.
  • Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in financial software and Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information clearly.
