We are recruiting for a Group Financial Controller role, essential for maintaining financial control for a not-for-profit organisation in the heart of London. The successful candidate will have a keen eye for detail and be comfortable operating in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Description
Year-End Financial Statements:
- Lead on the preparation of the year-end Financial Statements for the University and its subsidiaries
- Ensuring the Financial Statements are prepared in accordance with the applicable regulatory requirements
- Taking responsibility for key risk areas within the Financial Statements e.g. statement of pension liability
- Key responsibility in maintaining FRS 102 financial reporting.
- Ensure all VAT, Corp Tax and Gift aid requirements are met for the University and its subsidiaries
- Manage the year end Pensions timetable
(Ensure you have the technical knowledge to complete balance sheet reconciliations also)
Management Accounts:
- Preparation of monthly management accounts for the Deputy CFO/CFO.
- Liaising with the Heads of these services on a regular basis to discuss progress against budgets and to aid their understanding of financial results
- Act in an advisory capacity to the Heads of departments to expose risks and opportunities and to optimise financial results
- Preparation of the consolidated monthly management accounts for presentation to the SMG and VCE
- Manage monthly debtor days analysis reporting ahead of cash flow meetings
- - Manage monthly balance sheet recs process and implement necessary adjustments
Profile
A successful Group Financial Controller should have:
- A degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related field.
- Qualified Chartered or Certified Accountant
- Experience in a senior financial managerial position.
- Knowledge of financial and accounting software applications.
- Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage, guide and lead employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are being used.
