Group Technical & Statutory Reporting Manager, PE backed Sustainability, c100k + bonus, London

We are working exclusively with a fast-growing sustainability consultancy who are backed by an instantly recognisable PE powerhouse. As the business continues to grow both organically and through strategic acquisitions, they are seeking a skilled and motivated Group Technical & Statutory Accountant to join their London-based team.

Reporting to the Head of Group Reporting, the Group Technical & Statutory Accountant this role offers exceptional exposure across the business and opportunities for professional growth, particularly in a dynamic, rapidly expanding organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the preparation of consolidated statutory accounts for the group, including complex processes such as IFRS 9 Expected Credit Loss modelling and annual goodwill impairment reviews.
  • Act as the primary contact for external auditors, managing the audit process
  • Oversee the audit and reporting requirements for UK statutory entities (approximately 25 companies), including first-time audits for newly acquired entities.
  • Conduct technical accounting analysis, prepare papers for management and auditors, and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., IFRS 3, 9, 15, 16).
  • Represent the Finance team on group projects, partnering with Legal, Tax, and Treasury departments on structural changes and entity rationalisation initiatives.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and enhancement of the Global Finance Manual, improving internal controls and processes.
  • Lead and mentor a small team of qualified accountants

Required Skills and Experience:

  • ACA/CA qualified with 5+ years post qualified experience
  • Strong technical expertise in IFRS, with a deep understanding of complex standards such as IFRS 3, IFRS 9, IFRS 15, and IFRS 16.
  • Proven experience in managing audits
  • Organised and process-driven with excellent time management skills, capable of taking ownership and meeting deadlines independently.
  • A proactive team player, keen to challenge the status quo and drive continuous improvements in processes and controls.
