Our client is a family owned and long established business in the beverage industry. They have a head office in London and distilleries, warehousing, blending and bottling sites in multiple locations nationally. Turnover is approx. £70m
We are looking to replace the company's Chief Accountant who is due to retire in the summer. This role is office based, in the London Head Office. Reporting to the board of directors, the successful candidate will have full responsibility for the finance function and manage a team of four in London plus support the finance functions at their distilleries and plants too.
Assignment Details- Manage the finance teams in London and Scotland
- Prepare monthly and quarterly Management Accounts
- Assist with preparation of annual Statutory Accounts for the group
- Report daily on bank accounts,
- Maintain the Fixed Asset Register
- Prepare budgets for distilleries, warehousing, blending, bottling and logistics plant
- Prepare Cash Flow forecasts
- Maintain Nominal Ledgers
- Payment of PAYE and Corporation Tax
- Check monthly payroll, holidays, sickness and shift pay reconciliations
- Report information to the ONS
- Buy/sell currency (mainly US$ and €) as required
- Prepare claims for Government grant
Skills Required
- Professional Accountancy Qualification is required ( ACA,ACCA,CIMA)
- Strong proficiency in SAGE software and Excel
- Excellent organisational skills with a keen attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Effective communication skills
- Flexibility and willingness to help others
