Interim Capital Project Accountant

This East London housing developer is seeking an Interim Capital Project Accountant to act as the single point of finance contact for a series of live projects and schemes. The role is pivotal in maintaining financial control, ensuring clear financial reporting, and supporting project teams at every milestone. The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders across the organisation, providing financial expertise from initial project scoping through to delivery. Key responsibilities include:

• Maintaining a rolling 18-month cashflow, ensuring accurate forecasting and financial planning.
• Performing financial scoping on new projects, assessing viability and financial impact.
• Supporting the development of funding papers, ensuring robust financial analysis for decision-making.
• Partnering with project teams to provide budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis at each milestone.
• Delivering financial appraisals and risk assessments to support effective capital investment decisions.

To be considered, candidates should meet the following criteria:

• Fully qualified or finalist accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with relevant experience in providing finance support to capital projects.
• Strong background in capital project accounting, ideally within Housing, Local Authority, or Construction.
• Excellent financial planning and analysis skills, particularly in forecasting and cashflow management.
• Proven ability to partner with non-finance stakeholders, providing clear financial guidance at all project stages.
