We are urgently seeking a dynamic, fully qualified Financial Controller with experience in the public sector to join a prestigious organisation ASAP!

My client is seeking a Financial Controller to join them on an initial six-month contract on a hybrid basis in Central London, reporting to the Director of Finance. This role is essential to maintaining financial integrity and driving system improvements within a complex organisation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing day-to-day financial control operations, including accounting processes, cash flow, and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Leading the year-end process, including statutory accounts and external audit management.
  • Ensuring compliance with charity legislation and robust internal controls.
  • Supervising and mentoring a small financial operations and accounting team.
  • Overseeing financial systems, identifying opportunities for improvement, and driving upgrades.
  • Collaborating with departments to ensure effective contract compliance, debt collection, and financial reporting.

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • A professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) and strong technical accounting expertise.
