My client is seeking a Financial Controller to join them on an initial six-month contract on a hybrid basis in Central London, reporting to the Director of Finance. This role is essential to maintaining financial integrity and driving system improvements within a complex organisation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing day-to-day financial control operations, including accounting processes, cash flow, and compliance with accounting standards.
- Leading the year-end process, including statutory accounts and external audit management.
- Ensuring compliance with charity legislation and robust internal controls.
- Supervising and mentoring a small financial operations and accounting team.
- Overseeing financial systems, identifying opportunities for improvement, and driving upgrades.
- Collaborating with departments to ensure effective contract compliance, debt collection, and financial reporting.

The ideal candidate will bring:
- A professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) and strong technical accounting expertise.

- Knowledge of relevant accounting standards, including the Financial Reporting Manual (FRM).
