Interim Financial Controller (3-6 month Contract) | South East London | £70k - £80k equivalent
Cobb & Jones Recruitment are working exclusively with a unique and complex SME based in South East London, supporting them in their search for an Interim Financial Controller. A project-based business that has links to a larger International Group, reporting requirements are particularly strict and as such, we are seeking someone with a bias in Financial Accounting. This is a newly created role, and one that requires an immediate start, for this reason we can only consider people who are available immediately, or at most, on a 1 week notice period.

- Either Fixed Term Contract for 3-6 Months or hourly/day rate role inside IR35 (PAYE)
- Salary or salary equivalent of £70k - £80k
- 3 and 2 hybrid working
- Depending on preference, possibility for the role to go permanent

Profile:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA or ACCA).
- Preference for practice trained (including accounts preparation experience) or trained from large corporation (i.e. audited enterprise/ FTSE 250, will consider profiles purely from industry with the relevant experience.
- Looking for maybe 3+ years PQE (ideally PQE from industry - experience of running month end/producing management accounts/planning and forecasting) but will also consider newly-qualified.
- Exposure to a business based on long-term projects would be useful, but not essential.
- Advanced Excel skills are vital.
- Must demonstrate an appetite for process improvement.
- Prior roles to include Audit Manager, Audit Senior, Accountant, Financial Accountant, Senior Accountant, Financial Controller.
Responsibilities:
- Producing management accounts and running month end for 3 companies (combined T/O £25m).
- Interacting with Group Finance (based in Europe) to 1) upload to system (consolidation system 2) respond to queries.
- Interact with project teams (Project Managers) to interrogate submissions/planning and forecasting, all associated business partnering.
- Produce statutory accounts and other compliance lodgements i.e. corporation tax returns, VAT returns etc.
- Drive efficiencies across all fundamental processes where possible.
