Cedar is currently partnered with an exciting Events business to support with the recruitment of an Interim Financial Controller based in London. This is a 14-month contract role, to cover maternity and is paying £70,000 + benefits.

The Role

As Interim Financial Controller, you will:

  • Oversee month-end close and prepare company management accounts.
  • Compile and present the monthly board pack for directors.
  • Assist in preparing the annual budget, reforecasts, and rolling forecasts.
  • Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and reviews.
  • Manage the year-end audit and prepare statutory accounts for filing.
  • Supervise the AP & AR teams.
  • Oversee weekly payment runs.
  • Oversee payroll, prepare monthly submissions, and coordinate with third-party processors.
  • Monitor and control overhead department costs.
  • Develop event-specific budgets and financial projections for Directors.
  • Monitor event budgets, challenge overspending, and ensure financial accountability, reconciling projects against budgets and reporting variances.

Your Profile

You will ideally have:

  • A formal accountancy qualification (e.g. ACA/CIMA/CA).
  • Minimum of 2 years of post-qualified experience in industry within a well-rounded Finance role covering technical reporting, budgeting and variance analysis.
  • Strong technical proficiency, in particular with Excel.
  • Project accounting experience.
  • Previous experience of Paprika accounting software is beneficial but not necessary.
  • Previous experience working within Events is beneficial but not necessary.
  • The salary of £70,000 per year represents a fair value, or logical increase on your previous salary or day rate.
  • Availability to start in no later than 1st April 2025.
