Interim Financial Controller – Restaurant Group – Up to £80k

A fast-growing restaurant group based in central London are looking for an experienced Financial Controller with F&B experience to play an integral role in the growth of the business.

Job Description

  • Manage a small growing team, providing training and mentoring
  • Prepare management accounts including analysis of profit and loss, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
  • Evaluate existing financial systems and processes, identifying areas for improvement to increase accuracy, efficiency and reporting capabilities.
  • Compile weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for senior leadership and the Board.
  • Examine financial data to spot trends, discrepancies, and areas needing improvement.
  • Manage and produce the operational cash flows for restaurants on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Oversee the management accounts process, ensuring that revenue reconciliation, expense allocation, and all month, quarter and year-end accounting activities are completed.
  • Investigate margin and expenditure variances, monitor stock levels, identify potential cost savings, and ensure all variances are thoroughly explained.
  • Lead the team in delivering the management accounts pack, providing training and mentorship.
  • Collaborate with Directors to prepare monthly expenditure reports, comparing actual spending against budget or forecast, and highlighting variances, overspend, and areas where improvements can be made.

Experience required:

  • Ideally practice trained and ACA qualified
  • Experience leading financial growth in F&B / hospitality companies
  • Strong management experience able to mentor/train your team
  • Agile and a clear communicator in fast moving environments
