Interim Group Financial Controller | Hypergrowth FinTech Scale-Up | 6-Months

Harmonic are delighted to be working with a rapidly scaling FinTech Scale-Up to find them a Group Financial Controller on an initial 6-month interim contract, with the potential for it to become permanent thereafter.

Our client has developed breakthrough technology which is used by world leading financial institutions across the UK, US, and beyond. They are a mission driven business and have a diverse team from all walks of life which is something they are very proud about. Team collaboration is important for them, especially during this interim period as the company enters a significant period of growth. They are therefore looking for someone who is open to a hybrid working model, where they can collaborate with the wider finance team and across departments.

The Role

This role reports directly into the CFO and will manage a lean finance team directly. This role is essential for overseeing the day-to-day finance function and ensuring compliance within a regulated industry. The role will have technical elements to it which requires a deep understanding of statutory reporting, audit and tax. Given they are an international business, they require an experienced candidate with a background in consolidating accounts for businesses based in both the UK & US.

Duties

  • Take lead and ownership of accounting, audit, regulatory compliance and payroll processes.
  • Establish and maintain robust financial controls.
  • Consolidate accounts for the UK & US entities.
  • Lead the high performing finance team.
  • Support the CFO on fundraising activities.
  • Provide Quarterly updates to investors.
  • Take lead on annual audit, including statutory accounts under UK GAAP & US GAAP.
  • Make continuous improvements to financial systems.
  • Optimise business performance by implementing efficient processes

Essential Skills

  • Fully Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)
  • Previous experience in a fast growth scale-up business.
  • Experience developing Financial Controls.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Highly knowledgeable about financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and controls.
  • Effective communicator.
  • Knowledge of UK GAAP & US GAAP.
  • Experience or active interest in Technology and SaaS.

Bonus Skills

  • Previously worked within the FinTech, B2B SaaS, or broader Tech sector.
  • Experience using NetSuite.

Day Rate: £500-£650 per day (Outside IR35)

Start Date: ASAP

Location: Kings Cross (2-3 days per week in the office)
