Interim Senior Management Accountant - NFP organisation - 6 month contract - Competitive Day Rate - London based

Client Details

Our client is a large children's charity, based in the heart of London.

Description

Main tasks include:

路 To produce monthly management accounts including analysis of key financial and operational performance indicators to enable reporting in a timely and accurate manner.

路 To manage adoption contract accounting and budgeting/forecasting

路 To carry out or review monthly balance sheet reconciliations. Specific duties will include:

o Ensure all bank transactions are adequately monitored and processed.

o Responsible for the supervision of the sales and purchase ledgers.

o Reconciliation of investments and other balance sheet reconciliations as applicable.

路 To regularly analyse and manage cash flows

路 To prepare Corporation Tax and VAT returns ensuring that the Group is compliant with all relevant regulations and that the overall tax and VAT position is optimised

路 To implement group financial policies and to ensure that internal controls are effective.

路 To provide guidance and training to staff in financial policies and procedures.

路 To prepare audit schedules, annual statutory accounts and ensure the successful completion of annual audit.

路 In conjunction with the Heads of Service, the preparation of accurate annual budgets and regular forecasts. To ensure that all financial returns and information are received from Services and departments on time and processed accurately by the Finance Department.

路 To attend Group Finance, Audit and Investment committees and subsidiary entity Board meetings to present financial reports

路 To maintain financial processes and systems as well as driving development of existing ones

路 To lead on any changes required to processes and procedures

Profile

Must-haves:

  • Charity accounting experience (4 - 6 yrs), focus on adoption desirable
  • Local authority funding experience
  • Contract account management
  • VAT returns
  • Management accounts reporting, Budgets & Forecasts, Cashflow forecasting
  • Trustee/Board meeting attendance and presentation of financial papers
  • Annual external audit assistance
