Sterling Williams Ltd are working alongside a leading International Bank based in the City of London who are looking to hire into their Internal Audit Division.

  • Salary depending on experience but circa £40 - 60,000 pa plus benefits

The Internal Auditor will support the Internal Audit Department in delivering high-quality, risk-based audits, ensuring the London branch operates in compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry best practices. This role requires excellent English communication skills, analytical ability, and knowledge of financial services.

  • You will be involved in assisting in planning and conducting risk-based internal audits in line with the annual audit plan, whilst performing detailed testing of controls and assess compliance with relevant regulations and policies.
  • Document findings and recommendations clearly and concisely in audit reports.
  • Communicate audit results to management and ensure follow-up on corrective actions.
  • Support the team in identifying and assessing risks within the London branch's operations.
  • Monitor changes in regulatory and operational environments to adjust audit priorities
  • Ensure audits address regulatory requirements, including FCA and PRA expectations.

The successful Internal Auditor will likely have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance, or a related field.
  • For Officer level: 1-2 years of experience in internal/external audit, risk, or compliance, preferably within Big 4 or financial services.
  • For Senior Officer level: 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong understanding of internal audit methodologies, risk management, and internal controls.
  • Familiarity with UK regulatory requirements (e.g., FCA, PRA).
  • Analytical thinking and attention to detail.
