Management Accountant - London

Seeking a Management Accountant with a public sector background for a 2-month contract which has potential to be extended on a longer-term basis for the right candidate. You will act as an internal support manager to help bridge requirements between business and finance teams. The support will span finance operations such as financial control and governance, programme reporting, budget setting and monitoring

Responsibilities:

  • Establishing/managing/optimising processes for inputting and extracting information to/from Oracle to ensure efficient operation in line with monthly cycles. To include journals, budget uploads, virements, monthly reporting, and writing reports in Oracle BI to produce management accounts packs.
  • Complete reviews of cost centres and identify opportunities for rationalisation
  • Establish/manage/optimise a requisition process for the programme in line with agreed governance.
  • Establish/manage/optimise DPS finance inbox process (e.g. requisitions, receipts, etc).
  • Establish/manage/optimise process for reconciliations
  • Develop, refine, improve, and embed financial governance processes across the programme.
  • Create/develop/manage financial tools, training packs, financial dashboards, and monthly financial packs.

Key competencies:

  • Finance solutions orientated.
  • Public sector experience would be desirable
  • Requires strong people and relationship building skills.
  • Can be a part-qualified accountant.
  • Experience in management accountant roles in a large or complex programme, or successfully operating in a politically sensitive environment.
