Management Accountant

A fast-growing retailer and consumer goods business based in North London is looking for a new Management Accountant to join their finance team. Reporting to the Head of Finance, this role will be responsible for the production of monthly management accounts, cost analysis, sales analysis, budgeting and forecasting, as well as assisting with new shop openings and franchise billing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation of monthly management reports: P&L, balance sheets, and financial performance analysis.
  • Perform balance reconciliations, ensuring integrity and reliability of financial data.
  • Cost analysis of new store openings and billing for franchisees.
  • Inventory and stock control with collaboration with the warehouse team.
  • P&L analysis to identify cost saving opportunities, driving profitability.
  • Overhead expenditure analysis to support cost efficiency and budgetary control.
  • Track and report group sales performance on a weekly basis.
  • Maintain and update Fixed Asset Register, ensuring accurate recording and depreciation tracking.
  • Assist in preparation and analysis of budgeting and forecasts.

The ideal candidate should be newly qualified (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) and will have relevant management accounts experience working in industry, preferably within FMCG/Consumer Goods/Retail. Advanced Excel skills, IT proficiency and technical skills will be needed. The candidate must be able to utilise strong communication skills and commercial insight to aid decision-making.
