About the role

Our team and client base are growing! We are looking for a hands-on, dynamic and forward-thinking Management Accountant to work across our expanding portfolio of clients. You are likely to be currently working in a similar role as part of an in-house finance team and be ACCA or CIMA qualified or equivalent, providing robust accounting support and analysis.

You will join our client service team delivering accounting services to a portfolio of clients, including maintenance of the general ledger and production of monthly management accounts and performance dashboards, thereby demonstrating the importance of accounts preparation, reporting & analysis.

You will have an ability to identify performance trends and variances quickly and efficiently to expected outcomes and effectively investigate, explain and suggest solutions to these, having a keen eye for client requirements. Above all, you are highly motivated with a strong desire to help build an awesome company!

You’ll be based in our London office 2 days a week, but will have the ability to work remotely from a home-based office and will be happy to occasionally travel for client visits.

Responsibilities

  • Working with our Associate CFOs to onboard new clients and implement our standard processes and automation tools
  • Maintenance of client general ledgers, including balance sheet reconciliations, journal preparation and postings and ensuring appropriate revenue recognition
  • Maintain accounting schedules, such as prepayments and accruals
  • Month end duties, including preparation of management accounts
  • Working with the client teams in the production cash flow forecasts and quarterly and annual budgets
  • Mentoring and supervision of finance assistants
  • Identifying process improvements and implementing recommendations agreed with the client
  • Working with the wider client service team to develop better ways of operating, implementing processes and tools to continuously improve the value we deliver to our clients and our accuracy and efficiency

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • ACCA / CIMA qualified, with at least one year’s PQE
  • Experience with Accounting Software g. Xero, Sage
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Ability to translate complex data into easy to understand messages
  • Process-oriented and always show meticulous attention to detail
  • Agility and pace together with an ability to work and make decisions in an ambiguous, changing environment
  • You are organised, have excellent time management skills and know what key priorities you need to focus
  • Desire to work in a fast paced start-up
