Cedar has partnered with a well-known retail brand to recruit a Finalist Management Accountant for their UK head office in London. This established company has grown significantly in recent years through strategic acquisitions, becoming a household name in both UK and international markets.

Key Responsibilities

Month-End Reporting

  • Manage reporting for stock and related balances across multiple brands, including:
    • Stock on hand
    • Cost of Goods Sold (COGS)
    • Goods in transit
    • Stock provisions and adjustments
  • Prepare key balance sheet reconciliations (e.g., accruals, prepayments, capitalised freight).
  • Deliver stock balance reports to stakeholders.
  • Oversee payroll processing for central teams and stores, ensuring accurate bonus accruals and variance analysis.
  • Support month-end close activities and provide analytical insights.

Year-End Activities

  • Liaise with external auditors, addressing queries and providing documentation.
  • Assist with statutory account disclosures and notes.

Additional Duties

  • Collaborate with the finance systems team to ensure seamless ERP integration.
  • Mentor junior team members and support their development.

Person Specification

  • Finalist (CIMA/ACCA).
  • Advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs).
  • Highly organised, able to manage deadlines independently.
  • Positive and adaptable, eager to take on challenges.
  • Strong team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Retail or multi-site experience is a bonus.
