Reed Accountancy are working exclusively with a dynamic group of companies to recruit a Management Accountant for a brand new role within the group's small finance team.
This role is perfect for someone who thrives on challenges, is eager to propose innovative ideas, and is looking to grow within the position, which is initially being recruited on a fixed term contract basis for 12 months.
The group's business activities are focused on design and technology. Based in state-of-the-art offices in central London, this company offers flexible hybird working after an initial onboarding period.
Aim of the Role:Â The Management Accountant will play a crucial role within the finance team and the broader organization. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for the timely and accurate production of financial and management reports, as well as supporting various business-critical processes essential for both daily operations and long-term strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Finance Manager in preparing monthly Management Accounts and Reports.
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert for specific business areas within the group, offering valuable insights and advice.
- Complete daily bank reconciliations of incoming and outgoing transactions.
- Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks accounting software, MS Excel, and Smartsheet.
- Prepare and post journals, accruals, prepayments, and similar accounting entries.
- Prepare Monthly Management Accounts and quarterly VAT returns.
- Prepare client statements and invoices.
- Reconcile project expenses and allocate costs.
- Assist with R&D claim preparation, budget, and forecast preparation.
- Prepare weekly cashflow reports.
- Manage day-to-day finance transactions and related queries.
- Process supplier and contractor pay runs.
- Drive continuous improvement of end-to-end accounting practices.
- Ensure appropriate systems and internal controls are implemented and managed.
Essential Skills:
- Part qualified ACCA/ICAEW/ACMA.
- Relevant work experience in a similar finance role.
- Experienced in bookkeeping and financial reporting.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in data entry and record keeping.
- Background in SME.
- Excellent IT literacy, including intermediate Excel skills.
- Ability to handle a busy and varied workload.
- Ideally, experience with QuickBooks accounting package.
- Highly organized, flexible, and able to multi-task.
- Keen to learn and grow in a dynamic environment.
