“Numbers are your game; success is your aim - a Management Accountant's job is never mundane!"THE OPPORTUNITYSheridan Maine are seeking a highly capable and detail-oriented Management Accountant to join our expanding finance team. This role reports directly to the Head of Finance and will play a pivotal role in strengthening financial oversight and supporting strategic decision-making across the business. In an environment shaped by rising costs, wage pressures, and evolving consumer behaviours, the Management Accountant will be instrumental in ensuring the business has access to accurate financial information, effective cost control measures, and forward-looking insights that support sustainable growth and profitability.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Financial Reporting and Analysis: Collaborate with external accountants to review and analyse monthly management accounts. Provide comprehensive financial commentary and performance insights to senior stakeholders.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts, working in close partnership with the operations team to ensure accuracy and relevance.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track and analyse key financial and operational metrics, identifying trends, variances, and opportunities for business improvement.
  • Cost Control and Profitability Analysis:Partner with General Managers to monitor cost efficiencies, stock management practices, and margin performance to optimise profitability.
  • Business Partnering: Work collaboratively with teams across operations, people, property, and marketing functions to provide financial insights and support informed strategic decision-making.
  • Payroll Oversight: Serve as the primary point of contact between the organisation and the outsourced payroll provider, ensuring accurate and timely submission of payroll data.
  • Systems and Process Enhancement: Support the continuous improvement of financial reporting systems and processes. Assist the Head of Finance in the transition to a new outsourced finance provider, ensuring a seamless transfer of responsibilities and data integrity.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant (CIMA / ACCA / ACA).
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and effectively to non-finance audiences.
  • Proactive and hands-on approach, with the capacity to engage in both strategic initiatives and operational finance tasks.
  • Proficiency in financial systems (Sage Intact), EPOS platforms, stock control, and business intelligence tools.
  • Experience within a multi-site business environment, with a solid understanding of site-level performance analysis.
  • A strong interest in, and enthusiasm for, the food and beverage industry.
